Rooted Innovation: Mentoring for change

Mentoring for change is about more than growth it is about direction, integrity, and impact. I work with creatives, and innovators who want to build work that matters, create lasting value for their communities, culture, and environment.

Business Mentoring with Lorna McCormack

I am a business leader, innovator, and change maker working across the arts, heritage, agriculture, and climate sectors. I mentor entrepreneurs, creatives, and social enterprises who are building purpose-led organisations in complex, often under-supported systems.

My mentoring is grounded in real world experience. I have built and led nationally recognised initiatives, worked directly with government, EU programmes, industry, and communities, and understand what it takes to turn strong ideas into sustainable, credible enterprises.

When you work with me, you gain strategic clarity, honest guidance, and practical tools to help you innovate responsibly, secure support, and grow without losing your values. I specialise in supporting work that sits between culture, sustainability, and enterprise—where impact matters as much as income.

What does mentoring involve

I work with innovators, creatives, and women in the agriculture industry at all stages of their journey from early ideas to established enterprises, providing mentoring, strategic guidance, and practical support. We work together through Zoom and email, connecting your vision, lived experience to the work you want to grow.

Through the mentoring, we may work on:

  • Thoughtful feedback on ideas, projects, and work in progress.

  • Clarity of vision, purpose, and direction.

  • Confidence-building and leadership development.

  • Overcoming blocks, uncertainty, and isolation.

  • Turning ideas into practical, sustainable action.

  • Focused exercises to refine thinking and decision making.

  • Prioritising projects, time, and energy.

  • Building structure, resilience, and momentum.

  • Navigating funding, policy, and routes to growth.

Why mentoring

We all reach a point where we are too close to our own work to see it clearly. Mentoring provides the space and perspective to step back, identify what is working and address what may be holding you back. A good mentor does more than point out gaps or challenges they work alongside you to help refine your ideas, strengthen your direction and move your work forward with confidence.

Mentoring is a collaborative and supportive process built on trust. When that relationship works well, it allows you to navigate uncertainty, growth, and change with clarity, momentum, and belief in your work.
